Today is all about Parker.
She turned three a couple weeks ago and I just wanted to document the occasion by spending a little time on her today. If you don’t know Parker, I must tell you that the girl has a HUGE personality.
We have some friends (Adam and Tasha) who had their first child a couple years before we had Foster. He is (and was) a very active boy who was always getting into a tiny bit of mischief and whose personality was just incredible.
Once Foster came along, we would regularly compare his personality to Cruz. Adam’s and Tasha’s second child, Piper, was a precious little girl who was quiet and observant. As a toddler, she would sit there like a perfect angel. We vacationed with them right before I was pregnant with Parker and I remember thinking about how lucky we would be if we could have a little girl just like Piper. I mean Foster was wild and crazy so our next child would likely be the calm one, right?
Well, not so much. But, let me tell you that this girl is fun. She doesn’t mind one bit being the center of attention and is usually competing with her brother to be the life of the party.
Although she loves playing with makeup and most things girly, she’s not afraid to get a little messy.
This girl absolutely adores her big brother.
My heart is already breaking a little thinking about how much she’s going to have Foster around her all the time next year. She’s already teared up a few times begging to go to kindergarten too. He’s been a wonderful big brother to her from day one.
Plus, she is happiest when playing alongside the big kids.
Parker is a tiny bit sassy.
Okay, who are we kidding? That girl is mostly sass. Since turning three, I’ve definitely referred to my little threenager more than a few times. How is it that she just knows that it’s time to turn up the sass? 😉
My mom sent me this video of her from the other day. Of course, she said “like mother, like daughter.” I have no idea what she’s talking about. LOL.
Although the girl is sassy, she is such a sweet friend and sister. Her teacher told me that Parker reminds her of an old school diner waitress because she’s always trying to soothe her friends when they’re upset: “It’s okay sweetie … you’ll be alright.”
And this girl is strong-willed. Don’t tell her she can’t do something because she will prove you wrong. Just last week we were at a playground with a really tall rock wall. I told her she was probably too little to climb up it that way, so she should try going up another way. And she was off.
Out of all her characteristics, this one might be my favorite. This girl is out to prove herself – watch out world!
Starting at the age of three, I try to interview the kids every birthday. Last week I sat down with Parker while she was eating a really healthy (ha) poptart and began asking her some questions. You’ll see that the poptart distracted her just a tiny bit. Enjoy!
