Happy Friday friends!
Today I’m going to write about a few of my favorites from the week. I’m going to start doing this regularly as a way to share with you fun articles, videos, sales, and what-not I’ve found online plus use it to highlight a couple things we did this week.
#1 Going Out to Dinner Pre-kids vs. Post-Kids
First up, I absolutely LOVE this video from the Holderness Family.
They are bang-on with this video about going out to dinner pre-kids vs. post-kids. What they didn’t mention is that choosing Restaurants with Play Areas can truly make it an enjoyable experience again.
Yesterday, I actually took the kids to Mangieri’s Pizza Cafe in Lakeway and it was a very relaxing $9.99 lunch for us (included a small pizza, salad, and a drink). The playground was standard but the kids were completely locked in and tons of patio tables had a great view of it. Mangieri’s gets my recommendation!
#2 Early Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Second, I’m like a little kid on Christmas morning because I have birthday money to spend and Early Access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale began yesterday. OMG! I’m ordering a few things and plan to share with you guys a few of my favorite finds next week. The early access is only available for Nordstrom debit or credit card holders, but the Anniversary Sale starts for everyone later this month. Stay tuned and please share your favorites too!
#3 Quarry Splash Pad
Third, I’m still reminiscing over our fun trip to Quarry Splash Pad on Sunday.
I had several of you give comments on the Four Points Mom Facebook page and on the LCB Mamas Facebook page about your experiences there and I want to thank you for doing so. You’re helping me and so many others plan future trips there or elsewhere.
#4 Scary Mommy’s Article on There is a Reason Moms are Always Tired, Even After a Full Night’s Sleep
If you haven’t read Scary Mommy’s article, “There is a Reason Moms are Always Tired, Even After a Full Night’s Sleep,” stop right now and do it. This article has been shared by so many of my friends on Facebook this week. I know I live a very privileged life, have a great job that allows a nice work-life balance, and have two incredible children. But, I sometimes think I’m losing my mind because I still can’t stay on top of things. This article is resonating with many of my mom-friends and me and is a great reminder that I’m not failing but I’m normal. Yay!
#5 Four Points Mom Can Now Send You Weekly Wrap-Up Emails
And, finally, I’m so excited that you can now get a weekly email with updates containing any posts or new pages that came up that week. Several readers have made various recommendations about content (yes – I’d love your recommendations too) only to find out I’ve already done a post or created a Four Points Resource on the topic. They just missed the update on their Facebook feeds. Now you can make sure you don’t miss new content by signing up for the Four Points Mom Weekly Wrap-Up Email. You can sign up by clicking on the right side of the webpage (if you’re on a computer) or scroll down on your phone.
That’s it for me for now. I hope you all have a great weekend! This week I’ve been researching and shopping for a post on Grocery-Assistance Programs (like Instacart and Shipt or even H-E-B Curbside Pick-up) and I’m excited to share with you some pricing comparisons and personal experiences. See ya then!
