Spinning Around Trailhead Park

Spinning Around Trailhead Park

This morning I’m back with another Playgrounds & Four Points Mom post, telling you all about Trailhead Park. I have to say I’m on a winning streak with playgrounds because the past few I’ve visited have really impressed my kiddos and me.  You might remember that I included this playground in my favorite playground edition of Friday Favorites a couple weeks ago, but today I’m diving in and telling you all about it.

Trailhead Park is located in the Canyon Creek neighborhood, about 10 minutes from the 620/ 2222 intersection.

When we first pulled up, I was shocked at the size of the park.  There is tons of green space for the kids to run wild and remain within your view.

The kids jumped out of the car and raced to the playground.

You’ll first pass the swings.

One thing somewhat unique about this park (and could be a negative feature) is that the swings are quite a haul from the rest of the playground equipment.  If you’re like me, you won’t be able to watch kids at both places at the same time.  So, you’ll likely want to stop there first or just tell your kids you’ll catch it on the way out.  For us, that worked because the rest of the playground was quite enticing.  But I can imagine it being an issue when you’re with multiple kids of various age ranges.

After the swings you’ll pass the covered pavilion with bathrooms.  Expect a typical playground bathroom (definitely nothing to brag about).

Now let’s talk about the main playground area.

The playground is wheelchair-accessible and very fun for the kids of all abilities to maneuver (as well as the parents).  There are loads of fun interactive activities too.  Parker had a blast playing her favorite song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, on the piano.

You’ll also find several slides and rock-climbing features as well as a zip line ride.

Just past the main playground equipment, the kids will love the climbing rope jungle gyms.

I got a little dizzy myself watching them spin around, but they weren’t phased a bit!

I only intended to stay about an hour at the park but the kids had so much fun that we stayed close to two hours.  Bring tons of water and snacks because you might find yourself there quite a while too!

There are so many fun features for the kids to enjoy.  Plus, the trails around the park are incredible.  Bring your stroller and go for a jog or a short nature hike.
