Show & Tell Tuesdays – Guilty Pleasures

Show & Tell Tuesdays – Guilty Pleasures

Hi everyone!  Today I’m teaming up with Andrea, one of my favorite bloggers who helps me get my morning off to a happy and energized start, and talking about Guilty Pleasures.  I have quite a few, so this should be fun!

Dr Pepper

This is one of my nemeses to healthy eating.  I definitely blame my mom (because I believe this is an inherited bad habit) and the fact that I grew up in Texas.  I know many of my friends say wine is their bad habit but most of the time I’d prefer a Dr Pepper.  And if it’s coming in a Sonic cup with Sonic ice, I’m in big trouble.

Audiobooks

I’ve always enjoyed reading.  But, being a mom doesn’t give me a ton of time to sit down and read a real book or even one on a Kindle.  That’s why I LOVE audiobooks.  I would say that 80% of the time I’m knee-deep in an audiobook.  Right now, here’s what I’m reading:

This John Grisham book is a follow-up to A Time To Kill.  Daydreaming about a local celebrity (hello MM) in his hey-day (wow, he was cute in that movie) is a fun way to spend long car rides.  If you love books but can’t find the time to sit down with one, I highly encourage you to look into Audible (you can even sign up for free and try a book out).  Or, today you can take advantage of Amazon’s current Monthly Deal which has several e-books on sale that you buy as an e-book and then add Audible narration for super cheap.  I just bought this book with Audible Narration for less than $5!  Awesome!  Next week I’m going to do a book review and I’ll tell you how I use the library to get some audiobooks for free.  The selection isn’t quite as good, but free is always preferred!

Cheesy Shows

I’ve finally ditched The Bachelor and The Bachelorette because for some reason I just couldn’t relate to them anymore.  Ha.  Anybody else feel me?

But, I recently wrapped up watching every episode of Hart of Dixie.  So cute!  If you love Gilmore Girls you’ll like this show.  I don’t think it’s nearly as clever as Gilmore Girls, but it has the same small-town silly vibe.  I liked that I could have it on while I’m cooking or tidying up and if I missed a few minutes it wasn’t the end of the world.  This is unlike other shows I watch (House of Cards, for example) during which I must stay glued to the TV or else I’ll miss something super important.

Shipt

If you read my Grocery Winners review on Friday, you know that I declared Shipt my favorite grocery-delivery service.  I’ve now used the service three times and love it.  We’re leaving to go out of town soon and I’m already planning my order for when we get back so we’ll have fresh groceries (let’s be honest – I’m going to need milk and gogurts for my kiddos).

Jigsaw Puzzles

Yep.  I’m finally admitting to this publicly.  My biggest guilty pleasure is putting together a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle.  (Insert shock and awe here.)  A couple of my friends recently discovered this when my husband made a joke that if they couldn’t find me I was probably three hours into a puzzle and couldn’t stop.  I haven’t heard the end of it.  I probably have about 25 puzzles neatly stacked (and hidden) behind socially-acceptable board games in our games cabinet.  And that’s a low estimate.  Okay, it’s off my chest now.

What are your guilty pleasures?  Please share something as embarrassing as jigsaw puzzles!
